Another excellent discussion & so the hard work will begin in earnest!
1. MPN has agreed to the followings
a. There are a few development units which are clear cut & not overlapping. Thus, these can have the JMB first meeting. Those that are overlapping, the ForABetterButl team will need to speak to Pejabat Tanah & Galian (PTG).
2. MPN will issue a letter to DM to make sure that they organise the meeting properly. And to make sure that DM does call up everyone, DM will have to submit the name list to MPN & all their letters & stamped envelopes for MPN to do the verification & posting.
So yes, this is a very fruitful meeting indeed !

It was a good discussion today. The gist of it is that
1. MPN are willing to organise the meeting.
2. MPN will be trying to get the ministry's approval on the followings
a. Allow ALL purchasers (whether or not maintenance & other charges fully paid) to vote - this is due to DM accounts not audited so you cannot tell who has paid & who has not paid.
b. JMB to be formed without the developer - this is because DM is under receivership & we cannot tell how long before it sinks to be bottom of the abyss.
c. To have all account's slate to be wiped clean when the JMB starts so that whatever liability that DM carries should not be carried by the JMB.
3. So the meeting will be organised, but MPN does not know how many development units (the PTs, i.e. PT1234, inside your Sales & Purchase Agreement & also the Certificate of Fitness). So the Pro Tem Committee for BUTL has taken upon this task to get the list of development units. There after, each development unit will have the JMB First Meeting (yes, again!!!).

After some postponement on MPN side, the Pro Tem Committee is meeting up with MPN for a second round of discussion next week. Incidentally, since the same Pro Tem Committee is organising the Lawsuit Briefing, this is also the time to update everyone on the JMB progress.

Can 1st JMB Meeting still stand?
Dataran Mantin abandoned the 4PM JMB Meeting yesterday. Then they decided not to tell anyone until alot of people who were at the hall this morning & called in. Then the receptionist would say "saya baru je dapat tahu dari management bahawa meeting hari ni sudah cancelled".
Yes, pity those coming from Terengganu, Perlis, Singapore, or even some from Sabah & Sarawak??? Yes, it should also be said that pity those who never even heard of JMB. Yet with at least 300+ today, more than 50% did not receive the JMB notice from Dataran Mantin. This is another violation that definitely merits a police report!
Another police report will be for their failed auditing of accounts within 6 months from the date of Act 663 gazettement. So what can we, the ForABetterButl team do apart from making police reports? We are going to call all BUTL purchasers for a meeting ourselves. We will organise a big get together. We will be having a close door meeting between our volunteer members, some are nominees, and we will make sure that all BUTL purchasers have a voice in how BUTL is managed!
Once the JMB is formed, we will have all the accounts and all the contacts of BUTL purchasers. But that is if JMB is formed. Since now, the Act does not state when the 2nd JMB meeting is to be held, we will exhaust all our legal means to make sure that the 2nd JMB meeting MUST BE HELD!

So the JMB is now on! Yes, let us show you who we are as well as our manifesto. We want a better BUTL & we want it NOW!
Our Manifesto
1. Lower the Maintenance Fee that is more reflective of the Service Level.
2. Negotiate water deal to get residential rate.
3. Promote more greenery and landscaping.
4. Take immediate action upon receiving complaint.
5. Create a web forum for all purchasers for easier interaction as well as more ideas to re-invent Bandar University Technology Lagenda.
Of course, it goes without saying, transparency & accountability in its application of good governance is a prerequisite!
